Jilted Woman Destroys Her Wedding Dress In Awesome Photoshoot

What do you do when, a week before the wedding, your fiance calls you and says "just realized I don't love you. LOL SORRY!"? Some people might throw themselves a well-deserved pity party. Shelby Swinke, however, was all "fuck that noise" and destroyed her dress in a joyous photo shoot. Hashtag girl power. (Sorry, I just watched Spice World again.)

Swink, who still wanted to do something to commemorate her wedding day and the beginning of her new life (after canceling everything, of course — although, I kind of feel like the person who said "I'm not going to do this" should be responsible for that?)decided that the best thing to do was get all her bridesmaids together, invite her parents and paint everyone by flinging paint all over everything. And you know what? That actually sounds pretty awesome. I would also probably do that if this ind of thing happened to me. I would probably dissolve into tears and clutch my stomach while curling up in a fetal position, but I'd also at least try.

Many are finding Swink's attitude inspirational. Her painted dress will be on display at a local dress shop (she lives in Memphis) and a portion of the proceeds from every dress sold during the beginning of January will go to Be Free Revolution. And the photos, taken by photographer Elizabeth Hoard are gorgeous.

As for her ex, Swink has nothing but nice things to say in public:

Wouldn't it be great if we could all be like her and not cry and plot a revenge that we'd never carry out if it happened to us?

Noy to be best man at Dong-Marian wedding today

Always the best man but never the groom.

President Aquino will again stand as best man at yet another wedding, this time to celebrity couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera of GMA-7, who will tie the knot in Quezon City at 3 p.m. today.

The 54-year-old bachelor Chief Executive is expected to be accompanied by his sister, popular talk show host Kris Aquino, when they attend the wedding at the Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral along New York street.

Dantes – Jose Sixto Dantes III in real life – was appointed by Aquino on Sept. 1 as commissioner-at-large of the National Youth Commission. He was among the celebrities who supported Aquino’s presidential campaign in May 2010.

Aquino was also best man at the wedding of singers Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez in December 2010, six months after he assumed office.

When he was still a senator but was known to be vying for the presidency, Aquino stood as sponsor at the October 2009 wedding of then senator and now Interior Secretary Mar Roxas to ABS-CBN news anchor Korina Sanchez, who had been Aquino’s girlfriend in the late 1980s.

On Feb. 14 next year, Aquino will again be the best man at the wedding of his close friend and political ally, Sen. Francis Escudero, and his longtime girlfriend Heart Evangelista at the posh Balesin resort in Quezon province.

Escudero and Aquino were colleagues in the minority bloc at the House of Representatives – the former representing the first district of Sorsogon while the latter his home province of Tarlac. Both won a Senate seat in May 2007.

In June 2011, Aquino played the role of a “gentleman” at the golden wedding anniversary of Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago and her husband, former interior undersecretary Jun Santiago.

The senator served as Quezon City regional trial judge and immigration commissioner during the term of Aquino’s late mother, former President Cory Aquino, in the late 1980s. Santiago ran for president but lost to former Armed Forces chief Fidel Ramos in May 1992.

Aquino was invited to the January 2012 wedding of former Valenzuela councilor Shalani Soledad – another of his former girlfriends – to Pasig City Rep. Roman Romulo, who is an ally from the Liberal Party, but he did not attend.

Soledad’s relationship with Aquino was reportedly the longest the Chief Executive had. They became a couple in 2009 and broke up in October 2010.

Aquino has repeatedly stated that he does not want to be a godfather in any wedding since this might not give him the opportunity to marry. “I would like to be married too someday,” he said in jest in late 2010 ball gown wedding dresses.

He said there was a Filipino belief that single men who become sponsors at a wedding would remain bachelors. Roxas told Aquino in 2009 it was not true because he stood as sponsor in many weddings before he himself decided to marry.

Aquino nevertheless told reporters before Roxas’ wedding in 2009 that he could not say no to his friend and former girlfriend. He agreed to stand as sponsor in place of his mother, who died in August 2009.

Couple moves wedding because of Obama's golf game

Whenever a president visits a place, the Secret Service moves people away -- even when it's a golf course, and a wedding is involved.

President Obama phoned an Army couple who had planned to be married Sunday at the 16th tee box at Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course in Hawaii, but had to move the ceremony because the president played there that day.

Natalie Heimel and Edward Mallue Jr. -- both Army captains -- wound up getting married on a lawn near the home of the commanding officer of Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Bloomberg News reports.

In his phone call, Obama "apologized and congratulated them," said Jamie McCarthy, Mallue's sister, to Bloomberg, adding that it was a "wonderful talk."

The golf course is apparently a popular wedding site because of spectacular mountain views.

Also from Bloomberg:

"It was the second time that day that the couple heard from the nation's commander in chief, whose affinity for golf has, at times, caused political headaches for the White House.

"Stationed in Hawaii and knowing the president spends his Christmas holiday on the islands, they invited him to their ceremony on a lark. They had received a letter earlier on Saturday saying Obama regretted he couldn't come and wishing them happiness on their wedding day."

Wedding guest: Move due to Obama golf game 'not a negative thing'

A childhood friend of an Army captain whose wedding was moved to accommodate a round of golf for President Barack Obama said the bride and groom had to quickly scramble to find a Plan B. But the agile bride and her wedding party still pulled it all off without a hitch, the friend said.
Still, understandably, there were a few tense moments.

"She was like, 'I really don't know what we're going to do,'" Rebecca Dryer said of her friend and bride, Natalie Heimel.

Dryer said the couple received word of the President's golf plans after they wrapped up their rehearsal before the wedding was held on Sunday.

The message from the planner was, "The President wanted to play through," Dryer said.

But Heimel, her groom, Ed Mallue Jr., and the wedding party found an "equally beautiful" spot at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, according to Dryer. Not only was there an ocean view as they had envisioned, they could see some golfers on the course.

Adding to the unforgettable experience was an unexpected phone call from Obama, who phoned the couple to apologize for the mix-up.

Dryer said the President told Mallue, also an Army captain, "If I had skipped the 16th hole, I would have had a better score."

"He didn't know about it," Dryer said of Obama.

Weeks before their wedding, Heimel and Mallue had invited the President to attend, knowing he and his family would be making their annual trip to Hawaii. They didn't expect him to attend or even call.

"They were thrilled and so excited" to talk to the President over the phone, Dryer said.

"It's not a negative thing," she added.

Guests to the wedding posted pictures on Instagram about the wedding with the hashtag "#thanksobama14."

The White House did not know the round of golf would interfere with the couple's wedding plans, a source familiar with the situation said.

High drama at Juju’s wedding

Sipho Masondo and Poloko Tau, City Press

Johannesburg - Julius Malema’s traditional wedding to Mantwa Matlala this weekend was full of the bling and drama expected from the charismatic and controversial leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).

Before the big day, Malema bought his bride an expensive engagement ring glittering with blue diamonds, a source said on condition of anonymity.

The source said three weeks ago, Malema and his bride-to-be’s friends organised a grand surprise bridal shower for her at The Saxon Hotel in Sandton.

                          Bridesmaid dresses Canada

“There were about 15 ladies at the event. They were entertained by male strippers prancing up and down and stripping to the point of being almost naked.

“Prized Champagne was flowing and good fun was had by all. Obviously, she received many gifts from the friends,” said the source.
But not all of Malema’s close friends were celebrating with him this weekend – there had been a fallout over money.

City Press heard that Malema did not invite two of his closest friends, Collins Foromo and Jacob Lebogo, to the ceremony which started on Saturday and ended today in Malema’s home town of Seshego, Polokwane.

Not a typical township wedding

On Saturday, Malema’s convoy of flashy German sedans could be heard from a distance, hooting as it snaked through Seshego Zone 1 to Matlala’s parents’ house.

Although he could not be clearly identified through the tinted windows of a gold Mercedes-Benz E-Class, a security official said Malema had been in the car leading the convoy.

He was sitting in the back with his grandmother, Sarah Malema, while his 8-year-old son, Ratanang, sat in front.

Locals crowded the street outside the Matlalas’ double-storey home dubbed “Shoprite” because of its size.

They were hoping to catch a glimpse of Malema and Matlala dancing to traditional songs after exchanging vows, but his was not to be a typical township wedding attended by all.

Security was tight around the Matlala house, the huge air-conditioned white marquee erected next to it and a security checkpoint 250m away.

Guards were dressed in black suits, white shirts and red ties.

Countless people were turned away as their names did not appear on the list, including members of the bride’s church and staunch EFF supporters in red berets.

Resplendent bride

Most community members were happy to stand at the checkpoint and greet famous faces.

They included EFF chairperson Dali Mpofu, Malema’s lawyer Tumi Mokwena – who arrived in a traditional Zulu leopard skin – former Muvhango actress Lerato Moloi, former Limpopo premier Cassel Mathale and former MECs Pinky Kekana and Clifford Motsepe.

An unknown trio of guests arrived in a helicopter accompanied by bodyguards. including one carrying an automatic rifle. They landed 1km away and were driven to the venue in a Golf 7.

Inside the venue Matlala – surrounded by female friends and family – arrived in a burst of colour.

She was resplendent in a layered fuchsia tulle skirt and navy bodice with traditional detailing. A beaming Malema was more modestly dressed, in revolutionary chic, in a simple unembellished blue dashiki.

But outsiders couldn’t see a thing because the marquee was surrounded by a blue fence – even its windows were draped shut.

At a house across the road, a group of women sat ululating and singing along to traditional wedding songs played inside the marquee.

Others were hanging from fences and standing on the back of bakkies hoping to catch a glimpse of the newlyweds.

The wedding was also about who wasn’t there, most notably Foromo and Lebogo.

Foromo is a wealthy tenderpreneur, while Lebogo, a former ANC Youth League secretary in Limpopo, runs an adult shop in the Polokwane city centre.

The two stood by Malema when he was axed from the ANC in 2011, when he started the EFF last year and during his woes with the SA Revenue Service.

One source, who is friends with both men, said: “I can tell you now, there is no way that Jacob and Collins … can go to that wedding. He did not invite them.

“They were closer than his family.”

However, Foromo’s business partner, Charles Rampura, told City Press by phone that he was at the wedding. He said this even before any questions were posed to him.

'I don't know why they fought'

“I’m at the wedding and I’m entering the marquee as we speak, but I can’t talk to you now. Please call me later in the evening,” he said.

Foromo and Lebogo could not be reached for comment.

Another source close to Foromo, who works for one of his many companies, said: “I know for sure that he [Foromo] … is not going.

“I never thought that his friendship with Malema could end this way. They were friends and were always together.”

Another source said: “I don’t know the finer details, but I know that Collins and Jacob fought with Malema and he decided not to invite them to his wedding. I don’t know why they fought.”

Limpopo’s wedding of the year was designed and managed by Two Way Exhibitions & Events and the marquees were sourced from Western Cape-based Downings Marquee Hiring.

Neighbours said a horse and trailer were seen delivering alcohol at the Matlala home on Christmas Day.

Meanwhile, at the other end of Zone 1, workers on Saturday were putting the finishing touches to another huge marquee blocking the street in front of Malema’s grandmother’s double-storey house.

This is where the second party of the wedding had taken place on Sunday.

The word on the street was that Malema’s family had requested that he should dance in the street with his new wife at his house – as is the norm at an African traditional wedding.

This is where perhaps the community will finally get a glimpse of the EFF leader and his new wife.

The Buzz holiday spirit, part 2: wedding disaster averted

Businesses, individuals and groups of students have gotten into the holiday spirit over the last few weeks and stepped in to do some heartwarming things. This week, I'm featuring a few feel-good stories that have come across my desk. (Want to see more? These stories run year-around on the Good Neighbors page inside Sunday's Life or Travel section.)

Today: The high school students and the wedding.

Photos : wedding dresses Canada

For the past three Saturday afternoons, band students from Appleton East and West high schools played Christmas music in the lobby of the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in the heart of downtown Appleton.

On the Dec. 13, a wedding taking place in the hotel ran into a last-minute jam, and students came to the rescue.

"We had a small wedding ceremony and reception for about 60 people in the hotel. I do not know the background, but their DJ was not able to provide music for the ceremony that started at 2 p.m.," said Jay Schumerth, the hotel's senior general manager.

The students responded quickly when they heard about it.

"They situated themselves in the back of the room where the ceremony was being held and provided live music for the procession to the altar and at the conclusion of the ceremony. Then they went back to the lobby and continued to provide entertainment to visitors to the hotel," Schumerth said.

Besides thanking the students, he praised band teachers Margaret LaFleur from East and Michael Ross from West.

Wedding bells jingle on Christmas at Akron Children’s Hospital

There will be no forgetting this wedding anniversary.

Mogadore residents Sarah Lewis, 27, and William Cramer, 28, a couple for some six years, tied the knot Christmas morning.

Still, it wasn’t the holiday date that made the occasion so memorable as much as the location: A room on the fifth floor of Akron Children’s Hospital, where the couple’s 4-year-old son, Billy, has been staying while being treated for cancer.

“He’s my hero,” William Cramer said of his firstborn son.

The 4-year-old was diagnosed in November 2013 with neuroblastoma, a cancer of neural tissue that most commonly forms in childhood, rarely in adults. Billy’s cancer started in the adrenal gland on top of his left kidney. The cancer, which is difficult to treat, spread into the boy’s bones, said his oncologist, Dr. John Fargo.

Since the diagnosis, Billy has undergone chemotherapy, surgery, a bone marrow transplant and more intensive chemotherapy. He is now taking part in a clinical immunotherapy trial that will last a couple more months. Billy’s mom, Sarah, estimates she and her son have been in the hospital the equivalent of six of the last 12 months.

The good news is, the treatment is working, Fargo said.

“He’s doing great. He’s quite a trouper,” he said. “He tolerates the therapy pretty well. He’s quite the little kid.”

Blood markers so far show no signs of cancer, Fargo said. “From what we can tell, there is no evidence of disease.”

Sarah and William said over the years they had made other wedding plans that fell through.

But the timing worked out just right Thursday with family in town for the holiday and Sarah’s Uncle David available.

The location in Billy’s room was right, too, Sarah said.

“This has been our second home the past year,” Sarah said. The hospital wedding made the occasion more about their family and the people who have been caring for Billy, she said.

Plus, Sarah said after the ceremony, “It shows we’re going to be together for the long haul.”

Hospital staff on the floor happily — and hastily — prepared for the wedding, which came together just in the last week or so. They brought in a lighted arch that was placed at the entrance to Billy’s room, where the ceremony took place. Another staffer scattered rose petals on the floor.

Family gathered inside the room — there were more than a few happy sniffles — as Sarah’s uncle, David Crisco, a Baptist preacher, conducted the short ceremony with the couple standing under the arch. Hospital staff gathered, watching and smiling.

Billy sat up in his hospital bed, holding a bouquet of flowers in his left hand as he watched the ceremony. Relatives, including the couple’s two other children, Mason, 2, and Delaney, 1, softly jingled bells at times from the back of the room.

William Cramer works at Hudson-based toy maker Little Tikes. “I make the toys,” he said. “I’m Santa’s little helper.”

He has cared for the two younger children at home while Sarah stayed with Billy at the hospital.

Sarah said she and her husband are looking forward to returning to normal family life once Billy completes his treatments. She left nursing school to tend to Billy’s illness and intends to finish her nursing degree and eventually work at Akron Children’s, she said.

Courtney Culbertson, a nurse practitioner on the floor who played a big role in coordinating the wedding plans, was all smiles after the ceremony.

“Forty-eight hours, we threw a wedding. It was pretty cool ... It’s my first hospital wedding,” she said. “It’s very special. It’s the Christmas miracle.”

Sony’s ‘The Wedding Ringer,’ With Kevin Hart, Has a Tortuous Path

With its flickering New York skyline, the nearly extinct Miramax Films logo will appear again in theaters next month on “The Wedding Ringer” — a comedy that actually belongs to Screen Gems, the ambitious genre films unit of Sony Pictures Entertainment.

And therein lies a story.

It is the kind of tale that movie producers like to tell over chopped salad and iced tea on the balcony of Soho House, a members-only hangout on the edge of the Sunset Strip. But unlike most of Hollywood’s insider yarns, this one ends on a high note. That is because “The Wedding Ringer,” which seemed to die with the collapse of production at Miramax in 2009, is set for release Jan. 16, in time for the film-friendly Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend, with Kevin Hart and Josh Gad in lead roles.

The movie is produced by Will Packer and Adam Fields. Mr. Packer has often worked with Mr. Hart. But it is Mr. Fields who managed to wring a broad Sony comedy — think “Wedding Crashers” meets “Bridesmaids,” if Kristen Wiig and pals were guys — from a script that was buried in a New Jersey warehouse with 18,000 boxes of paperwork that accompanied Miramax when Walt Disney sold it to a consortium of financiers in 2010.

Actually, that was only a little over half the paper accumulated by Harvey and Bob Weinstein when they ran Miramax, first as an independent company, then as a unit of Disney, before leaving to found their Weinstein Company in 2005.

“The rest was elsewhere; they had 35,000 boxes total,” Mr. Fields said.

Trim, intense and 50-something, Mr. Fields has been involved with movies at least since the 1980s, when he was credited as a music supervisor on “Endless Love.”

He has an eye for opportunity and considerable wit.

Mr. Fields once sold Fox a cannibalism thriller, “Ravenous,” by convincing the studio chief, a vegetarian, that it would turn people off meat. Asked about the recent death of his father, a Madison Avenue executive of the “Mad Men” era, Mr. Fields said the ashes were being stored in a favorite family martini shaker.

Like most producers, Mr. Fields has a certain ambivalence toward scripts. He values them as the coin of the realm — “the chips you need if you want to sit at the table in this town are screenplays,” as he put it.

But he also knows that most scripts are not yet movies for a reason. Some are based on books or other material to which rights have expired. Others carry a huge price tag inflated from years of development at one studio or another. Many, perhaps most, “are not very good,” he said.

Still, on hearing about Disney’s sale of Miramax to buyers who were primarily interested in its film library, he was curious about unproduced screenplays that were presumably part of the deal. A friend who had considered investing said there were 642 such scripts and that they were valued in the transaction at exactly nothing.

“There’s no cash flow associated with unproduced screenplays,” Mr. Fields explained of the financiers’ approach to Hollywood word-craft.
Continue reading the main story Continue reading the main story
Continue reading the main story

By 2011, Mr. Fields had talked his way into an agreement entitling him to mine the Miramax scripts, assuming he could find them.

Soon, the boxes, all of them, were headed west, on 18 tractor-trailers, to a more convenient warehouse in the San Fernando Valley. With five interns, Mr. Fields hunted for screenplays and their supporting documents. Of the 642, he reckons that about 110 truly belonged to Miramax, once expired options and other ownership issues were cleared away.

Of those, 10 made the first cut of likely prospects. One was called “The Golden Tux.”

It was an original screenplay, by Jeremy Garelick and Jay Lavender, who had gotten to know each other while working as assistants at the Creative Artists Agency in 1998. Mr. Garelick had proposed a concept to Mr. Lavender: “What if there was a professional best man?”

Mr. Lavender loved it. From that premise, they wrote “The Golden Tux,” which was purchased in 2002 by Miramax’s Dimension unit, with an eye toward Vince Vaughn as the lead. But Mr. Vaughn instead did “Wedding Crashers” in 2005, and later “The Break-Up,” which Mr. Lavender and Mr. Garelick wrote.

“The Golden Tux,” Mr. Fields said, eventually disappeared “into the black hole of that purgatory,” the boxes full of broken Miramax scripts.

Mr. Garelick didn’t quite give up, he said in a phone interview: “I never think anything is dead.”

                       Images :Cheap Prom Dresses

Neither does Mr. Fields. By now in league with the new Miramax owners, an investor group that includes Colony Capital and others, he fished out the script and did what producers do: dangled it, in this case over lunch before his own former assistant, Scott Strauss, who had become an executive vice president at Screen Gems under its president, Clint Culpepper. Mr. Strauss — who knew the screenplay as a writing sample (a script circulated to studios to acquaint them with writers’ skills and sensibility) — bit. Sort of.

In truth, Screen Gems didn’t chomp down until Mr. Culpepper, one of Hollywood’s wilier executives, took the unconventional step of paying Mr. Garelick to revise the script — to pump up the “bromance” — even though Miramax owned it. Mr. Fields yelped at Mr. Culpepper’s audacity in developing a script without bothering to buy it. “I shouldn’t have told you,” Mr. Culpepper remembers saying.

“Everybody in town had read it,” Mr. Culpepper added in a recent phone interview. “I think the reason they didn’t make it was because it didn’t have that heart.”

“The Wedding Ringer,” as the story was retitled, now finds Jimmy Callahan, best man for hire, played by Mr. Hart, facing his ultimate professional challenge, faking the entire groom’s side of a wedding party for an utterly friendless husband-to-be, played by Mr. Gad. It echoes “I Love You, Man” — in that one, a friendless Paul Rudd recruits a guy’s guy, Jason Segel, as his best man.

And there’s a whole lot of “The Hangover,” whose director, Todd Phillips, has been a mentor to Mr. Garelick, who directed “The Wedding Ringer,” his first film.

As for Miramax, the company has its logo on the new movie and is finally getting cash flow from scripts once thought dead. Another of Mr. Fields’s finds, “The 9th Life of Louis Drax,” is being directed by Alexandre Aja as an indie, while a third, written by Stephen Colbert and titled “The Alibi,” has been picked up by HBO’s “Project Greenlight,” the old reality competition that is being revived for 2015.

Earlier this year, the Weinstein brothers themselves managed to tap their old trove, with an agreement that allows them to develop dormant projects like a projected sequel to “Shakespeare in Love.”

As for Mr. Fields, he is seasoned enough to be surprised that his venture actually paid off.

“Everyone has a Hollywood story,” he said. “And most have unhappy endings.”

Hosea Feed the Hungry hosts Christmas wedding

It's one of Atlanta's most generous holiday traditions: Hosea Feed the Hungry serves a hot meal to thousands in need every Christmas Day. But Thursday's crowd wasn't just guests at the annual event; it also included wedding guests.

Jerald Lowe and his new wife, Nicole, chose the special wedding venue for a specific reason.

"We said we want to get married where we actually met at and it was Hosea," Nicole Lowe said.

It's not only where they found each other, but where they found hope to turn life around. Both were homeless when they walked through Hosea's door.

Hosea CEO Elisabeth Omilami says her work is less about giving away meals and more about nourishing lives and finding ways to get people standing steady with jobs, homes and, eventually, families.

"It's about creating families so that the children in our communities can have more support," said Omilami.

Omilami said the newlyweds are a perfect example -- both now employed and living in an apartment. They're grateful for the help and for each other.

"If God can bless me and my wife, I know that he can bless anybody else, you just got to put your mind to it," Lowe said.

The 33-year-old has jetted down to her native Brazil for the holidays, and couldn’t wait to splash around on the beach with her cherubic boy Noah.

Alessandra hoisted her precious two-year-old upon her shoulders while showing off her fantastic figure in a festively patterned jumper on Sunday.

'Beach fun with my baby boy #sundayfunday #floripa #férias #family #foreveronvacation', the looker captioned the fun photo.

Earlier on Friday, the starlet shared a pristine view of her vacation spot, describing the snap: 'Back to Paradise #férias #vacation #floripa.'

The starlet sure seems to be enjoying quite the break from her full schedule.

She recently starred in a sizzling spot for LOVE's advent calendar, and earlier in December trotted down the runway for the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

In addition to her work behind the camera, Alessandra has taken to designing as well.

She told E! News: 'As a working mom, I need something that will go from day to night and something that you really don't need to think too much. I wanted to do something easy for women.'

Billionaire 'bought Aussie beauty bling for Christmas'

There's been little news of a romance between Miranda Kerr and James Packer since the pair were spotted holidaying on the billionaire's yacht off the coast of Spain in August.

But a new report claims the love is very much alive between the famous Australians, with the casino mogul said to have gifted the former Victoria's Secret model with a pair of diamond earrings worth $100,000.

'He bought them for her about four weeks ago,' a source told Woman's Day.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to a representative for Miranda for a comment.

The reports of an extravagant gift come as the Australian beauty told InStyle magazine she is 'very single'.

[I'm] single...and really happy to be single,' she told the magazine.

'I'm just happy right now to have my focus,' she added. 'I need to spend more time with my friends.'

Rumours first began that Miranda and James were more than friends a year ago.

The high-profile pair have been linked since December last year, when Woman's Day reported that Packer had told friends 'I'm seeing Miranda Kerr'.

Both stars had recently announced divorces from their partners, Packer splitting from wife Erica in September and Kerr from actor Orlando Bloom in October.

Earlier this year Miranda said as long as the important people in her life know the truth about her relationship status, she is not fussed by other reports.

In an interview with The Sunday Times in the UK, she denied claims she was at the centre of the very public bust-up between Packer and his longtime friend, Channel Nine boss David Gyngell that took place in June.

With an elegant clutch in her hand, the starlet dashed inside the ritzy hotel to watch the ceremony unfold between Lance, 35, and his partner of four years.

People reports that the happy couple exchanged vows they had written themselves in front of 300 guests, including some famous faces.

Lance's bandmates Joey Fatone, JC Chasez and Chris Kirkpatrick were all there, and E! revealed that JC sang with Kristin Chenoweth for the pair's first dance.

Christina Applegate, Kris Jenner, Gabourey Sidibe and AJ McLean were amongst the other guests at the bash, which had a 'royal wedding' meets 'Met Ball' dress code.

The couple had some help making sure everything was perfect however, as the 35-year-old singer hired Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's wedding planner Sharon Sacks.

Lance had plenty to say about his 27-year-old new husband, telling the publication: 'Michael gets my crazy life and he fits perfectly into it. We're best friends.'

The singer shared on Twitter hours before the big moment: 'Today I marry the man of my dreams. He makes me smile; he makes my heart melt; he makes me....me.#LanceLovesMichael'.

2014 has been a banner year for wearable technology. The trend of integrating robotics into clothing has found all sorts of unexpected outlets, from sports, to parenthood, to impulse control.

One of the most creative leaders of this merger of fashion and technology is Dutch engineer and designer Anouk Wipprecht, who specializes in electronic couture—wearables with a futurist twist. Earlier this year she debuted a Faraday’s Cage dress capable of withstanding millions of volts of electricity, and she’s also known for outfits that paint themselves, or that record and expose the wearer’s mood.

True to form, Wipprecht’s latest creation is a delightfully creepy riff on the defensive behavior of arachnids. The new “Spider Dress” is programmed to ward off threatening social behavior with its robotic limbs. It will premiere at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on January 6, but Wipprecht released a teaser trailer this week that captures the eerie verisimilitude of the dress.

“The dress provides an extension of the wearers intuition,” Wipprecht told me over email. “It uses proximity sensors as well as a respiration sensor to both define and protect the personal space of the wearer.”

“Approach the wearer too aggressively and the mechanical limbs move up to an attack position,” she continued. “Approach the system under calmer circumstance and the dress just might beckon you to come closer with smooth, suggestive gestures.”

The sleek bodice of the dress was 3D printed in a selective laser sintering technique, and is adorned with 20 embedded proximity sensors and wireless bio-signals connected to an Intel Edison platform. This allows the system to gage the behavior of people surrounding the wearer within a radius of about seven meters, and also to monitor the wearer’s internal stress level.

“It knows when you are focused or distracted,” said Wipprecht. “It knows when your heartbeat or stress level rises and it records with a camera when your brain activity is highest to provide a sort of mood or attention map of your day.”

In this way, the dress is intended to not only inspire ruminations on the mechanics of outward interaction, but also on the wearer’s internal reactions to social stimuli.

“This gives an interesting interplay between co-control and education of your own body and mind,” Wipprecht told me. “If you wear a design that you partly control and it partly extends your agency through its autonomous actions, you start to question where you end and my system begins.”

Built over a period of five months with input from Philip H. Wilck of Studio Palermo, the bodice is the latest manifestation of Wipprecht’s overarching philosophy of expressing our biology through technology, rather than trying to mute it. “The Spider Dress in particular has the perception of extending the wearer’s instinct by attacking when someone enters the personal space of the wearer uninvited,” she said.

So if you happen to be at the CES this year, check out this inventive addition to Wipprecht’s electronic couture portfolio. Just be sure to approach it with caution, because this is one dress that will be watching you every bit as closely as you watch it.

Living wake becomes surprise wedding

About a week ago Liza Heaton, 25, received the prognosis — the young woman from Shreveport had less than one month to live.

A rare cancer that affects young people, synovial sarcoma, had returned to her body after three years of remission. The disease was back and more aggressive than ever, and a gastrointestinal obstruction would prevent treatment.

Oncologists at Johns Hopkins cancer center recommended hospice and palliative care.

When Heaton's family in Shreveport shared the news of Liza's prognosis, more than 100 friends and family members from around the country flocked to her side to spend last hours together.

Rather than play host to her own living wake, Heaton turned a final gathering into a large-scale celebration — her wedding.

Liza and her new husband, Wyatt Heaton, had talked briefly about getting married after they learned the cancer had returned on Thanksgiving Day.

It wasn't until last week that doctors explained how little time Liza had left.

"When they said it would not be months, but weeks, I took that to mean a wedding was off the table," Liza said. "Wyatt took it to mean, OK, we have to get married this weekend."

The two decided to get married last Thursday, and they were married Saturday at Liza's aunt and uncle's house on Cross Lake.

The surprise ceremony was disguised as a lakeside fish fry, a chance for everyone to get together in one place to spend time with Liza.

"We had 150 people. Tons came in from out of town — from all areas of my life," she said. "From summer camps, college, friends from Atlanta, Baltimore. It was amazing. That's how I wanted to spend my time."

The couple said spirits were high at their wedding despite the circumstances.

"I wanted that day to be about the wedding, not about cancer. We still thought at the time it may be my last week, so I wanted it to be about the wedding and about love," Liza said.

The wedding was a success, Wyatt said. Liza was strong despite going from about 30 minutes a day out of bed to "eight hours of straight partying."

"I kept thinking, she needs to be on her fluids, but her dad said, 'No. She's having the time of her life,'" Wyatt said.

The day after the wedding, the obstruction that prevented Liza's treatment cleared. Oncologists prescribed a chemotherapy pill to halt the progression of the tumors.

"The hope is that the pill will stop the tumors, and in the spring she can join a trial and treat the cancer," said Liza's mother, Michelle Haynie. "The chemo pill could even shrink it."

Liza said she wants it to be known she no longer is in hospice care, and her treatment is not considered palliative.

She is fighting.

Her father, Dr. Richard Haynie, said the trial Liza will participate in is with a new drug that is working well on other tumors.

This week stands in stark contrast to last week in the Haynie household, where Liza and Wyatt are waiting out the illness surrounded by family.

"Last week we were thinking hospice. Only a few weeks left. Then with this chemo pill we weren't given a time frame. We're hopeful to beat it again and go into remission and spend the rest of our lives together," Liza said.

A seeming second chance inspired the Haynie family to start a GoFundMe campaign online to raise money for the Johns Hopkins-hosted "Love for Liza Fund" to further research for the rare disease.

The family did not expect the overwhelming response.

In about 24 hours, the fund had received close to $200,000. Friday, contributions were more than $280,000 of the $500,000 goal.

Liza said she is overwhelmed both by the money and the support of family and friends who have donated, sent gifts, cards and paintings.

"Someone got Lance Armstrong to call me last night. It was unbelievable. It's humbling to know so many love you and care about you and are willing to stand up for you," she said. "And now looking at the donations, there are people I don't even know."

Liza hopes her story, which the generally private young woman reluctantly tells in order to raise money for the disease's research, inspires others with negative prognoses to stay strong and to hold onto hope.

"Maybe it will turn around, and if it doesn't, enjoy what you have. Enjoy the time you have left," she said. "

Brittany and Jeffrey’s Sunday Morning Wedding in Toronto

Brittany Stevenson and Jeffrey Callaghan met in 2008, while living in Montreal. They became lovebirds and sealed the deal with a May 19, 2013, wedding, highlighting both the old charm of Toronto and its downtown scene. With a ceremony in the Casa Loma castle and a reception in the Drake Hotel, the pair celebrated their affection for one another and the things that make their hearts swell, like the scents of flowers, good food, and special memories.

The couple wanted to get married in a light-filled venue, so it was fate that the conservatory of Casa Loma, a majestic old home in Toronto, was available for their Sunday morning nuptials.

Brittany carried a bouquet of ranunculus, peonies, and succulents.

Jeffrey designed Brittany’s timeless engagement ring. The six-prong setting is inspired by a honeycomb’s hexagonal shape and his nickname for his sweetheart;  he calls her “Bee.” As for its box? It’s an antique, with a velvet interior, from the 1800s.

With elaborate plasterwork, marble floors, and an Italian stained-glass dome, the conservatory didn’t need much except for flowers. Todd Kjargaard of Jackie O enhanced the space with potted lavender (the bride’s favorite scent and a reminder of the lavender field in which Jeffrey proposed) along the aisle, and an arch of branches and blooming cotton.

Chairs were set up in a semicircular pattern to give the room a cozy feel.

Like the rest of the stationery, the programs were designed by Aprile Elcich. This trifold piece introduced the bridal party with illustrations of each person.

See Lance Bass and Michael Turchin on Their Wedding Night

Lance Bass and Michael Turchin certainly know how to dress for the occasion.

The former 'NSYNC member, 35, and his artist husband, 27, designed their own tuxes – a pair for the wedding and another for the reception – in collaboration with stylist Jeff Kim for their Dec. 20 wedding.

And PEOPLE has the exclusive photo of the love-struck grooms in all their glory.

"We love fashion, so it was really fun to design those," Bass tells PEOPLE of what he and Turchin wore at the ceremony and reception, which took place Saturday at the legendary Park Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.

Their joyous event will be televised as part of an E! special Lance Loves Michael: The Lance Bass Wedding (airing Feb. 5 at 8:00 p.m. ET).

In this photo, the newlyweds pose in their more party-ready look.

"They are a little more fun and colorful," said Turchin of their reception tuxedos. "I have this velvet in really deep, beautiful blue and Lance has this beautiful hunter green velvet jacket."

For the ceremony earlier in the night, they added some personalized touches to their look.

"They are traditional black tuxedos but each of us put a little twist on them by incorporating a little dark navy," added Turchin, who wore a black shirt and black bowtie while Bass wore a white shirt with navy bowtie.

Lucy Mecklenburgh slips into a curve-hugging lace dress

Former TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh has reportedly enjoyed ‘a string of dates’ with Louis Smith after exchanging flirty banter with the hunky gymnast on the set of celebrity talent show Tumble.

The pair are said to have met while filming the BBC gymnastics show, which will not return after ending in September, and pals say the chemistry was evident long before they went on their first date.

‘There were lots of rumours about Louis and Lucy when he was judging Tumble and she was a contestant,’ a source told The Sun’s TV Biz. ‘It’s true they were flirting but nothing happened.’

The pal claims fitness nut Lucy, 23, initially ruled out the possibility of romance with the Olympic silver and bronze medalist, 25, because at 5ft 10in he is considerably shorter than the towering 6ft 2in she normally goes for.

The source explained: ‘Louis got with someone straight after Tumble but they split and he bumped into Lucy. She must have forgotten about his size because sparks flew and they started dating.

'The way things are looking they could be together for a long time.'

Posting on Instagram in November, Louis shared a black and white snap of himself with Lucy, who nuzzles into his chest.

The accompanying caption reads: 'Look who I found.. @lucymeck1 . She looks just as good in a dress as she does in a leotard #tumble.'

Lucy’s reported dates with Louis come shortly after a short-lived romance with Welsh TV presenter Gethin Jones.

Lucy and Gethin - who was previously engaged to opera singer Katherine Jenkins - were first linked to each other back in August, before being spotted holding hands while on a date the following month.

                                Picture : Bridesmaid Dresses

But although they have called time on their fleeting romance for now, the Essex-based boutique owner insisted she and Gethin have remained friends.

Speaking in an interview with new! magazine, Lucy said: 'We’re not dating. We went out a few times a while ago but it was bad timing for both of us.

'I was so busy after Tumble and he travels a lot, so it wasn’t the best time.'

Insisting she and Gethin were never 'official', Lucy added: '[We're in touch] as friends. He’s the nicest guy. It was a mutual thing.'

Lucy was previously engaged to her TOWIE co-star Mario Falcone, and enjoyed brief romances with Mark Wright and The Wanted hunk Max George.

Meanwhile, Louis most-recently dated ex-TOWIE star Pascal Craymer, who had a fleeting romance with Lucy's ex, Mario.

MailOnline have contacted Louis and Lucy’s representatives for further comment.

Kylie Jenner teams edgy bomber jacket with red shirt dress

All eyes were on an uncharacteristically camera shy Kylie Jenner as she exited a Los Angeles restaurant on Tuesday evening.

The 17-year-old model half-sister of Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian enjoyed a low-key meal at popular West Hollywood eatery Mr. Chow before venturing outside to her waiting car – and a thong of onlookers.

Fashion forward Kylie opted for a distinctly urban ensemble on the night, opting for a loose fitting red shirt dress under a blue nylon bomber jacket.

The teenage model kept her eyes lowered to the sidewalk as she made her way outside, her mobile phone tightly clutched in her right hand.

Kylie and sister Kendall, 19, recently spoke to Splash! magazine about growing up in the spotlight and stepping out on their own as businesswomen in their own right.

'It's something that we've grown up with,' Kylie said of the adulation and attention. 'It's kind of normal for us - as normal as it can be.'

She added: 'We have an amazing family surrounding us. 'They taught us so much about growing up in [the spotlight].'

But older sister Kendall recalled a time when the attention put Kylie in danger.

You got chased in Miami, didn't you?' she said. 'We were really young, and [Kylie] had to run and escape them. She came to me and was like, "Kendall, that wasn't normal."'

Kylie and Kendall certainly appear to have adjusted, with both young women already launching careers in the fashion world.

Kendall is on the road to becoming a supermodel in her own right, having walked both the New York and Paris Fashion Week runways for brands such as Givenchy, Chanel, and Marc Jacobs.

Meanwhile Kylie has her own brand of hair extensions with Bellami hair called Kylie Hair Kouture.

Samantha Barks highlights her petite frame in ladylike lace dress

She was there to celebrate the revival of Broadway musical City of Angels.

And Les Miserables' Samantha Barks was every inch the angel on Tuesday night when she stepped out after the preview in an ethereal white lace dress.

Samantha, 24, showed off her enviably petite waist with a strapless dress that hugged her frame, offsetting the pale palette with some festive red bow shoes at The Hospital Club press night after party.

She matched her manicure to her scarlet sandals - tied with a satin bow at the ankles - that helped to create a stark contrast to her all-white ensemble.

Brunette beauty Samatha let her high-shine tresses tumble around her shoulders, having picked out a dress that left her décolletage bare.

The actress, whose West End credits already include Les Miserables and Oliver!, will play Avril/ Mallory.

In the play, a novelist from New York is approached by Hollywood with the offer of turning his paperback into a big screen epic.

The temptations of a Los Angeles lifestyle prove too much for the writer however and his life becomes all to colourful.

Former Coronation Street actress Katherine Kelly also stars in the Donmar Warehouse reimagining after she made her break into theatre from the soap world.

Katherine, who was best known for her role as Becky McDonald, plays Carla/Alaura just nine months after giving birth to her first child with husband Ryan Clark.

Having left the cobbles in 2012, the actress announced that she was expecting last September after a Las Vegas wedding to her husband and gave birth to daughter Orla in March.

MoMA adds '4D' printed dress to its permanent collection

The Kinematics dress created by design studio Nervous System using a 3D printer has been acquired by the Museum of Modern Art.

Most 3D-printed garments are rigid affairs, but not the Kinematics dress created by Nervous System. Created by design studio Kinematics, the dress has fluidity and movement, adapted directly to the wearer's body. The studio calls the process used "4D printing", a term typically used to describe 3D printed objects that change over time in response to their environment.
twirl.gif Nervous System

"Bodies are 3-dimensional but clothing is traditionally made from flat material that is cut and painstakingly pieced together," Nervous System explains. "In contrast, Kinematics garments are created in 3D, directly from body scans, and require absolutely no assembly."

The Kinematics dress is created from 2,279 rigid, interlocking triangles, connected by 3,316 hinges, printed in a single piece. These hinges allow the dress, adapted to perfectly conform to the wearer's body, to swing and move.

"Unlike traditional fabric, this textile is not uniform; it varies in rigidity, drape, flex, porosity and pattern through space," the team wrote. "The entire piece is customisable, from fit and style to flexibility and pattern, with Kinematics Cloth our first app for clothing."

The app -- which has also joined the MoMA collection -- allows anyone to design a Kinematics garment from an uploaded 3D body scan, selecting the size and shape of the modules and "painting" them onto the dress or skirt in real-time. Designers can then order their design from Nervous System, to be printed by Shapeways.

Taylor swaps floaty plum dress for tartan crop top and trousers as she takes the stage at Jingle Ball

She has an enviably slim figure, so it;s no surprise that Taylor Swift was showing it off at Jingle Ball on Friday night.

The 24-year-old hitmaker arrived at Madison Square Garden for another Jingle Ball concert looking stunning in a plum-coloured floaty Reem Acra dress which bared much of her svelte midriff.

Images : Cocktail Dresses
However, the star soon swapped her outfit for something a little more practical fro the stage - appearing in front of the New York City audience dressed in a tartan crop top and trousers.

Both outfits accentuated the tall star's figure and showed off her long toned legs.

For her red carpet look, Taylor teamed her outfit with co-ordinating strappy heels, while  her hair was teased into soft waves.

For her onstage ensemble, Taylor teamed her outfit with black boots and her favourite bright red lipstick.

The singer looked in good spirits as she took the stage in front of a neon 1989 sign in honour of her smash hit album.

She was also clearly excited about her birthday on Saturday - where she turns 25.

'This is my last tweet as a 24-year-old.#casual,' she wrote before the show.

It was a busy day for the singer - who earlier attended the Billboard Women In Music luncheon event at Cipriani Wall Street.

The invite-only luncheon was an event put together by the American magazine to honour the best and brightest female artists and executives in the music business.

As Taylor turns 25 on Saturday, she was treated to one amazing birthday present as legendary singer Aretha Frankiln serenaded her with a soulful version of Happy Birthday To You.

In a video posted on Instagram by Billboard Senior Editor Erika Ramirez, the 72-year-old could be seen and heard powering her way through a beautiful version of the most recognisable song in English language.

Taylor gushed over the impromptu performance as she couldn't help but place her hand over her heart and face seemingly in awe of being sung to by The Queen Of Soul.

But Taylor isn't just celebrating her birthday - she is also marking the fifth week her album 1989 has spent at the top spot of the U.S. Billboard chart.

Keira Knightley glows as she steps out for the first time since pregnancy reveal

Keira Knightley has been seen for the first time since her pregnancy news was revealed.

The Hollywood star couldn't have looked happier as she stepped out in London after attending a private function.

It was confirmed on Friday morning that the 29-year-old actress is pregnant with her first child with husband James Righton.

She emerged from a venue in London on Thursday evening with a huge smile on her face.

However, she kept her figure concealed with a stylish black coat, which she held over herself with crossed arms.

Photos by Wedding Dresses Online

A glimpse of her decidedly summery frock was visible, a cream number with an embroidered floral pattern across it, and she bravely rocked bare legs despite the winter chill.

She kept herself warm with a cosy black scarf tied around her neck, and she finished her smart-casual look with a pair of heeled ankle boots.

The mother-to-be displayed her natural beauty with barely a scrap of make-up on her face as she left the venue, failing to hide her huge smile from her face.

And she wore her brunette tresses down in an effortless, loose style, framing her face flawlessly.

It was originally confirmed to Elle UK that the Pirates of the Caribbean star is pregnant, but her spokesperson added there would be no further details at this time.

It has been a great week for Keira: as well as her pregnancy reveal, the talented star has received a Golden Globe nomination - Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture - for her role in The Imitation Game, in which she stars alongside Benedict Cumberbatch.

Upon being named as a nominee for the 2015 awards, she said: 'I felt so lucky to have portrayed Joan Clarke, such an extraordinary woman who defied convention and was part of a moment in history.

'Thank you to the Hollywood Foreign press for this honour, and for recognising our film. I can't wait to celebrate with everyone.'

She is also up for a Screen Actors Guild prize for the same role.

With the Golden Globe and SAG nods under her belt, Keira is now hotly-tipped to receive a nomination for the biggest movie awards of them all, the Oscars.

Keira made a high-profile red carpet appearance on Sunday night at the Moet British Independent Film Awards, displaying no visible signs of a baby bump in an embroidered ivory fur-trimmed dress by Rocha.

The British star is said to have 'steered clear from any champagne or alcohol' throughout the night, where she presented her The Imitation Game co-star Benedict Cumberbatch with the Variety Award alongside Mark Strong.

The Atonement actress - who has been with Klaxons rocker James, 31, since February 2011 - has made no secret of her desire to have children, but has previously insisted she would never give up her career to raise a family.

Speaking in 2012, she told Vogue magazine: 'I don't want to deny my femininity. But would I want to be a stay-at-home mother? No. On the other hand, you should be allowed to do that, as should men, without being sneered at.'

Speaking to Elle UK last summer, Keira appeared to have children on the brain when she discussed her fantasy film script.

She said of the imagined plot: 'The horrendous issue of trying to have a baby when you can’t.

'I’ve seen friends who’ve been through this, it seems like one of the most dramatic things that can happen to half of the population – and actually, the other half as well because, my god, the unbelievable toll it takes on male partners – and there are no good films about it.'

In recent weeks, Keira has been jet-setting to the UK, US and China - among other destinations - on the promotional trail for The Imitation Game, but has displayed no visible signs of a baby bump at any of her numerous photocalls.

Representatives for Keira Knightley and James Righton have been contacted by MailOnline.

Lauren Scruggs and Jason Kennedy marry in lavish ceremony in her hometown of Dallas

Airplane accident survivor Lauren Scruggs, 26, and E! News host Jason Kennedy, 33, are officially married after tying the knot Friday evening at the Four Seasons in Dallas.

The bride, wearing a gown by New York-based designer Romona Keveža, was walked down the aisle by her father Jeff, almost three years to the day after a plane propeller accident that took her left eye and part of her left arm.

She later changed into a dress by her friend, Nardos Imam, for the reception.

'Jason has completely changed my life, and I could not be more thankful for who he is and how he loves me,' Lauren told E! News

 Photos : Bridesmaid Dresses Canada

'I can't wait to spend forever with him.'

The groom, in a suit by Tom Ford, added: 'God has blessed me with somebody I've been waiting for my whole life. Lauren changed everything for me and I can't believe I get to spend the rest of my life with her.'

Among the well-heeled guests were, of course, a slew of past and present E! personalities, including Giuliana and Bill Rancic and Ken Baker.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and his wife, Candice, also attended, as well as Today co-host Kathie Lee Gifford.

Candice Crawford Romo, Kathie Lee Gifford, Terrence J, Tony Romo and Catt Sadler.

Kennedy had 11 groomsmen, who each wore their own suits.

The best man was Pastor Rich Wilkinson Jr., who married Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

The happy couple had chosen a color palette of ivory, cream, champagne, blush, shades of lavender, and accents in charcoal grey and silver.

They waltzed their first dance to a cover of Keith Urban's Making Memories of Us performed by Texas band Cuvee.

The wedding was to be covered by People magazine.

On Thursday, Ms Scrugg's enjoyed an intimate bridal luncheon.

Her friends posted pictures on Instagram from the luncheon in which she looked extra blonde and glowing.

Stylist Amy Havins, who runs the blog Dallas Wardrobe, put up a photograph of herself and Ms Scruggs standing in front of a Christmas-themed mantelpiece, saying in her caption 'Celebrating the bride to be.'

Dallas-based designerNardos Imam, who created Ms Scrugg's gorgeous strapless dress for the event, also put up a picture of the bride-to-be wearing the piece in her salon, saying that she was 'a joy to work with.'

Now, the couple's friends and family are pouring into Dallas for the big event.

Earlier today, Mr Kennedy's E! News cohost Guiliana Rancic, who interviewed Scruggs in 2012 and then played matchmaker, posted a photograph of her and husband Bill Rancic in what looks to be an airport above the caption 'Dallas-bound' and with the hashtags 'jason&lauren,' 'weddingweekend' and 'ido.'

Blogger/Youtube star Angela Lanter put up an image of her and her husband wearing matching 'J [heart] Lolo' hats and said she's 'incredibly excited' to be celebrating the couple's 'big day.'

The pair first met in December 2012 after Rancic interviewed Ms Scruggs for E! News following her recovery from her accident.

'[Rancic] was like, 'I think you should meet Jason Kennedy,'' revealed Miss Scruggs.

'I didn't know who he was. But she told me that he had this amazing Bible study in Los Angeles and had great friends.

'She texted Jason and asked if he was going to be on set. When I was asking Giuliana about places to go hiking, she told me, 'Just ask Jason places to go. He hikes all the time.''

They went hiking with Miss Scruggs' mom and a friend of Mr Kennedy's the next day, and the pair became instant friends.

Miss Scruggs' amazing recovery from the tragic plane accident has been a huge inspiration to thousands of people.

'It's kind of weird to say, but I wouldn't trade it,' she told People in November 2012. 'I have seen it as a miracle. I've been through a lot but I'm living.

'Sometimes it's easy to dwell on the fact that I don't look the same. But every day I'm feeling better and better.'

Avril Lavigne reportedly suffering ‘health issues’

TORONTO — Fans of Avril Lavigne are sending best wishes to the Canadian pop star on social media after she reportedly revealed she is suffering from an undisclosed illness.

Lavigne hasn’t been photographed in public since celebrating her 30th birthday in Las Vegas on Sept. 28.

“I feel bad because I haven’t been able to say anything to the fans to let them no (sic) why I’ve been absent,” Lavigne reportedly told the fan behind @AvrilMusicChart via direct message on Sunday.

“I’m not feeling well. I’m having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers.”

Lavigne seemed to confirm the legitimacy of the quotes when she replied to well wishes from @AvrilMusicChart on Twitter with a simple “thank you.”

Lavigne has not directly commented on her health on Twitter or Facebook. A representative for the singer could not be reached for comment.

The Ontario-born “Complicated” singer has been plagued by rumours that she has split from her husband, Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger, whom she married on Canada Day in 2013.

But, during a recent press tour to promote Nickleback’s new album, Kroeger dismissed the reports.

“You know, I get to hear all the rumour mill stuff,” he told ET Canada. “I find it very amusing.”

Kroeger, 39, was wearing a wedding ring when he appeared on Global’s The Morning Show last month — and days earlier he took a call from Lavigne during a live interview in Sweden.

Show :  Avril Lavigne Wearing Prom Dress

Lavigne’s absence from the spotlight has also led to speculation that she’s pregnant.

According to her website, she has no upcoming tour or appearances scheduled.

Nickelback is on a world tour Feb. 14 to Nov. 24, 2015 but there is a month-long hiatus scheduled beginning May 26.

In April, Lavigne’s ex-husband, Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley, was hospitalized with organ failure. He later revealed he had collapsed after years of alcohol abuse.

Lavigne told a Toronto radio station in June that she was proud of Whibley for giving up booze.

“I love Deryck very much. He’s family to me,” she said. “He’s a good guy and I want him to be happy and healthy.”

Here is a sample of the messages of support fans around the world posted for Lavigne on Monday using the hashtags #GetWellSoonAvril and #PrayForAvril.

Michelle Obama and Kate Middleton's Dresses Will Fight to the Death

First Lady Michelle Obama looked stunning in a white Monique Lhuillier gown at last night's Kennedy Center honors, and the President — in a penguin suit — didn't look too bad, either. But some observers have noted that there may be something more sinister going on than just a night out at a formal event that had been on the First Couple's calendar for months. Behind the Lhuillier and winning smile might be the sort of naked aggression that can only be expressed by wearing a gown in public. Yes. Let's go with that.

The New York Daily News and New York Mag's The Cut went with that (the former with tongue less firmly in cheek than the latter) storyline, and, quite frankly, we couldn't be more pleased. Fanfic about a First Lady driven insane with jealousy over the presence of a beautiful pregnant royal from across the ocean on her continent is just too giddily absurd to pass up. That's some telenovela shit, and, after last week, we all deserve some levity.

Meanwhile, over at the Daily News, an editor is praying to all of the gods that when the First Lady and the Duchess of Cambridge meet in person this week, their enraged dresses rip themselves off of the bodies to which they're affixed and fight until nothing remains but tattered rags and national pride. U-S-A! U-S-A!

Paying close attention to detail, the raven-haired beauty carried a nude mini vanity case as a handbag and teamed it with a matching pair of court shoes.

The night before, she attended a special screening for the new movie, St Vincent at the Covent Garden hotel, which was hosted by close friend, Poppy Delevingne.

Afterwards, she tweeted, 'I LOVED St. Vincent - Not for the easily offended but it's an absolute masterpiece @DelevingnePoppy u are the Queen of movie nights thank u.' [sic]

Meanwhile, Daisy was in good company at the Christmas dinner, with male model David Gandy arriving along with jazz singer, Jamie Cullum and his model wife, Sophie Dahl.

Actor James Nesbitt also arrived along with Texas singer, Sharleen Spiteri as well as rapper Tinie Tempah.

Meanwhile, it sounds as if Daisy Lowe is looking for love during this festive month and at the start of December, she tweeted: 'I would like a very big cuddle #December.'

She has previously been linked to Doctor Who actor, Matt Smith and also dated Mark Ronson.

And earlier, she posted a snap of her adorable pet pooch to her Instagram account as he sat atop a beanbag which perfectly matched the colour of his fur.

She captioned the cute image with the words, 'Where's Monty?'

Stunning sleeveless white gown at sunset beach ceremony

As a former Sports Illustrated model, Angie Everhart is used to being the belle of the ball.

And the 45-year-old effortlessly wowed guests in a stunning white gown, when she exchanged vows with Carl Ferro on November 5 in Santa Monica, California.

In newly unveiled snapshots, Angie cuts a radiant figure as she links arms - and locks lips - with Carl, president and co-founder of nutrition company Sunfare.

The bride wore a strapless lace dress with a tulle skirt and sweetheart neckline, showing off toned décolletage as she made her way down the aisle after her bridesmaids, who included model Sandra Taylor, resplendent in a black gown.

Her famously red hair was tied back to accommodate her long veil, which met the train of her dress as it swept along the ground.

Standing tall in a pair of silver heels, Angie accessorised with a pair of diamond earrings and a matching necklace with a pendant, as she held a beautiful bouquet of white roses.

And the ceremony, which attracted an array of onlookers, was decorated with a white aisle and large floral arrangements with white roses as guests looked on from gold seating.

At one point, Angie was seen laughing with her husband-to-be, who looked dapper in a black tuxedo, as she struggled to get her veil under control mid-ceremony.

Shortly before the wedding, the new Mrs. Ferro tweeted, 'My family is in town.. So good to see my sister. Happy to become a Mrs. F ... He is my Man', about her beloved groom.

The ceremony comes as extra good news for Angie, who recently overcame a battle with thyroid cancer.

Her spokesperson said: 'Now able to work again, she is confident that the restructuring will get her back on her feet financially.'

The Take Me Home Tonight star was declared cancer-free after a successful surgery for her cancer in May.

Just a month before her surgery, in April, she spoke to TMZ shortly after Carl popped the question as it was revealed that he proposed in an elevator.

‘It happened in the elevator, believe it or not,’ Carl told the website while his bride-to-be flashed her ginormous cushion cut diamond ring.

But Angie was quick to explain that it wasn’t a random spot to pick and in fact couldn’t have been much more romantic.

‘He actually asked me where he first kissed me,’ she revealed, which was at the Redbury Hotel in Hollywood.

This is second trip down the aisle for Angie, who was married to singer Ashley Hamilton for just four months after tying the knot in 1996.

Angie is mother to four-your-old son Kayden from a relationship with actor Chad Stansbury, while Carl has an eight-year-old daughter from a past relationship.
